Cavolonero

Cavolonero, or “black cabbage” in Italian, is part of the kale crop. It produces long, dark green leaves which are very tasty. We aim to have this wonderfully hardy crop available throughout most of the year. We will sow the main crop in both April and May, transplanting out in both May and June. The Cavolonero crop falls into the category which we call “cut and come again”, which means we can continue harvesting from the same plant for many months.
